Vinyl In Mono

Punk has always been my roots. I can try and deny it and glam it up all I want... but I'll always be a rocker at heart. Today i had the day off and spent it rifling through mountains of old clothes and shoes and came across these beauties!

My 'trapeze dress' is an oversize mens tshirt from Primark which i cut the neckline off (originally for a last minute fancy dress complete with false moustache- I was French), its super comfy and being breton I don't have to think about over doing it. I love 'borrowing' boys clothing for that very reason- theres something very sexy and alluring about a stolen sweater or a hint of androgyny.

I've chosen to team it with heavy denier black tights and creepers. My creepers are 'originals', I've had them since i was about 14, and when the cost £40 not £140. They're leopard print velour and suede, and so much fun! When i see girls wearing them now i wonder wether they know anything about the history: about punk, about music, about Mods and Rockers..?!

My Biker jacket goes everywhere with me, its only a cheap little thing from H&M but its cut brilliantly and despite the leather starting to fall away i get so many compliments! I love it for toughening up any look its the perfect partner to my creepers. I added a slicked down hair and red lipstick for a Parisian spin to finish the look.

Debbie Harry andCourtney Love. All punk in every sense of the word, the Fuck You attitude written over every aspect of them. Whatever the trends, whatever the generation, these are my Style Icons. For those about to rock, we salute you!
